Then i made a hot chocolate with marshmallows, then after that i went to dun-kin donuts and my boyfriends mom bought me another hot chocolate and they made me wait(DD) so they offered a free donut(which i wish i didnt take but it looked so delicious) and i got the strawberry frosted. So then i came home and had a whole wheat bread sandwich with 5 slices of turkey(50 Cal's) some lite mayo, a slice of cheese and potato chips(lays) i had a BUNCH. What do you think? Some people claim that Jesus was a vegetarian. But consider: Jesus' teaching and conduct: Luke 5:1-10 - The event that specifically motivated the apostles to follow Jesus was a miracle in which He enabled them to make a huge catch of fish (vv 4-9). If catching fish is immoral, why did Jesus instruct and enable them to do it, especially when they had not been able to catch anything previously? Luke 11:11-13 - Jesus said a father gives good gifts to his children, including bread, fish, and eggs. The parallel to the bread shows that the children would eat the fish and eggs (what other use would they be?). Jesus here justifies eating fish and eggs, and He says that those who provide these for food are doing good, not evil! Note that, not only is eating fish good, so also is eating eggs. Mark 7:18,19 - Jesus taught that a man is not defiled (i.e., does not sin - vv 20-23) because of the foods he eats. In saying this, he purified all foods - i.e., He removed the Old Testament prohibitions against eating unclean animals. So whereas the Old Testament justified much eating of meat, the New Testament allows even more than did the Old Testament! Mark 6:35-44; 8:1-9 - Jesus fed the 5000 and later the 4000 by feeding them bread and fish (note 6:41; 8:7). [John 6:9,11] Matthew 22:4 - Jesus told a parable of a king who killed oxen and fatted cattle for a wedding feast. Here eating meat is a symbol of partaking of the blessings of God's kingdom. Would God use something immoral to symbolize the blessings of the kingdom? Luke 15:23,27 - When the prodigal son returned, the father had the servants rejoice by killing and eating the fatted calf. This illustrates God's joy when people repent of sin. Mark 14:12,18 - Jesus ate the Passover with His disciples. We earlier learned that the Passover involved killing and eating a lamb. Therefore, Jesus ate meat. Did Jesus do something immoral? Luke 24:36-43 - After His resurrection (and after the Old Law had been removed), Jesus ate fish to prove to His disciples that He really had been raised from the dead. John 21:3,6,8-13 - After His resurrection the apostles again went fishing. Jesus repeated the miracle of providing the apostles with fish to catch. This time He also cooked fish and gave fish to them to eat. Note that, in many of these cases Jesus ate fish or provided fish for others to eat. But in some of them He ate or approved of eating "red meat": calves, and lamb. moreOpen Question: what would make somebody 'ugly' ?
i'm not sure how people use that word so easily with just taking one glance at a person. 'like oh she's ugly' and then you look at another person like 'oh, she's so pretty'. like i don't get it? when i think about ugly,i think about peoples personalities. if they're mean/rude or just plain indecent, i consider them ugly. and when people do call other people 'ugly' based off of appearance, do they realize we're all essentially made from the same dough? just like bread, but we're all cooked in different ovens. we ARE the same in the way that we are all humans, but we're different in so many other ways. i've had to reflect on a quote like that once. thoughts?what's worse is i find this more on than the internet than real life! never have i been called ugly in person, and nothing was never noted on my actual appearance very much at all. except i've been called pretty by a guy that liked me. but that's all!i think what makes you pretty, is personality. even if you're considered 'ugly' or just horribly 'average', you're pretty if your personality sparkles. right? moreOpen Question: Easy to make pastry dishes?
I have peppers, lettuce, onion, sweetcorn and peas, maybe a few more. A few spices and mixes, a lot of apples and cooking apples, potatoes, cheese and a few basic meats such as breaded chicken, and ham slices etc. and a few more. No fancy ingredients though! moreOpen Question: My question is in the description., Math forum, problem of the week?
Back in the olden days in the Midwest of the United States, school, church, and community groups in rural areas often held a fund-raising event called a box supper. It was a popular and fun way for people to get together for a good cause, especially young couples. The young ladies would cook a delicious meal at home, put it in a box or basket, and decorate it in an attractive manner. Once at the event, the young men would bid on the boxes in auction style. Each box would go to the one who offered the greatest amount of money, and he would have the privilege of eating the food with the girl who had prepared it. Of course, certain girls wanted to eat with certain boys, so word of how the girl would decorate her box usually got around to the boy, so that he could be sure which one to bid on. That was what our three young ladies, Sally, Susan, and Annie, did. Sally prepared a great roast beef sandwich with thick slices of homemade bread, French fries, apple salad and sweet pink lemonade. Her boyfriend Donald paid a modest but significant amount for that box. (It cost him an odd number of dollars.) Susan's specialty was juicy slices of Virginia ham with a pineapple sauce on top, scalloped potatoes, a tomato and lettuce salad, and peppermint tea. Her boyfriend Tommy won that box for a very good price. (It cost him 25 fewer dollars than three times what Donald spent.) But it was Annie's specialty of Southern Fried Chicken that really stole the show. Rumor has it each and every bite of that chicken would melt in your mouth. She topped the meal off with creamy mashed potatoes and gravy, peach cobbler and iced tea. Her boyfriend Bo paid top dollar for that scrumptious meal. (He paid five times the positive difference between what Donald and Tommy paid.) The problem is to determine just how much Bo paid for his meal, but you need to know two more facts: * the total amount of money raised was twelve times Donald's payment * the sum of the money paid by these three gentlemen was $4 more than the amount paid by everybody else who bought boxes. It is very important on this problem to be careful and accurate in your approach. Be sure to clearly explain and show your work in your solution. moreResolved Question: Did I eat "okay" today?
I'm trying to get motivated to lose weight this summer. About how many calories do you think I ate today? I know I didn't do that good, because I had a few splurges here and there, but I'd like to know what I can improve on. Thanks. Btw I'm 13, 5'1, and currently 103 pounds if that helps. (I look like I weigh a lot more though) Breakfast: A banana Midmorning snack: 1 cup of cooked cabbage Lunch: All natural chicken breast between 2 pieces of bread.. with ketchup (Ugh. I know. Not the best choice). One sugar free 40 calorie 'fudgsicle' cause I was craving chocolate. Midafternoon snack: Another fudgsicle cause I wanted more chocolate. (FML.) A pear. Dinner: A plate (idk how much exactly, I think it was an OKAY amount though) of brocoli, rice, and chicken. Throughout the day I drank LOTS of water and had like 4 pieces of sugarfree gum. So I know I didn't do GREAT, but was it okay? How many calories? What could I do to stop cravings and what foods could I eat that are healthy and keep me full? Okay, so far, here's what I ate today. For breakfast, a bowl of plain cheerios mixed with Special K cereal (plain). I had no more cheerios, so I filled the rest of the bowl up with Special K. Oh, and I had a banana. For lunch: A sub with turkey breast on whole wheat bread, with tomatoes, cucumbers, onions and lettuce inside. This sandwich was like 280 calories. For dinner, I had a bowl of salad, and a plate of soy beans and cooked vegetables. I also had a couple of salted peanuts. As for drinks, I just drank lots and lots of water. As far as exercised is concerned, I'm not signed up to a gym yet, but I'm making sure to get on that right away. Meanwhile, I played basketball for like 2 hours today and sweated a lot. Any thoughts? I'm 16 and since my sis moved out last year, it's just been mah mom and dad. Now, my father's not picky. If food is in front of his face when he's hungry, he'll eat it. But my mom only likes, meat, potatoes, sausages, pizza, white bread, and diet Pepsi. Lots an lots of Pepsi, like about 4 2 liters a week. You know the whole " If you hang out with friends who do drugs, it's about time that you do drugs with them or ditch em" I eat what my parents eat, I'll be halfway through a slush puppie and not want to put it in my body. I've got books like "G.I. diet" and I also have "You are what you eat" recipe books. But my mother usually shops alone and does it during I'm in school. I love my family, and you know how eating right can really change your mood and even help with depression and make you feel so, so great? Well I want that for them and myself. It just the recipe making, and when someone doesn't want to try new things. How can you convince them otherwise? I find it really hard to cook for myself, I don't like to do it so much, and you have to clean up after yourself. How can I make it more enjoyable. I know making batches of food on the weekend and eating it during the week, but it's just so hard to get motivated while all by yourself? It's not like we're obese. I'm a okay weight, I do exercise a lot though. but I just feel like crap some days of what I eat. So tips? Personal experiences? Thank ya. :) moreOpen Question: Need help finding a burger press/grill that is electric?
My husband and I ate at a local drive through on a trip and he had a wagon wheel burger. They actually took the burger with all condiments and grill pressed it to cook it. It was a circular metal electric cooker. It was on regular bread, but when it was pressed the crusts had been removed and then sealed by the press machine. Does anyone know what this is called and where I can find one? My husband loved it so much now he wants one and I can't find exactly what I am looking for! I tried to locate the drive through we ate at, but can't figure that out to call them and ask! It's not a large grill like a George Foreman..Just small like the size of a circular sandwich w/out crust. Thanks though! I'm hoping someone knows the name of this though cause we really want this one! Thanks for the advice about the bakery, I know they do special orders, but the bread isn't really a big deal, I'm more interested in the press machine thn the bread. Im doing a recipe for bbq chicken sandwiches and I don't know how to poach chicken? Can anyone give me directions on how to do this? Here's the recipe if needed: 1 cup chicken stock 1 bottle Mexican beer 4 pieces, 6 ounces each boneless, skinless chicken breast 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil, 2 turns of the pan 2 cloves garlic, chopped 1 medium onion, peeled and finely chopped 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce, eyeball it 1 tablespoon hot sauce (recommended: Tabasco) 2 tablespoons grill seasoning blend (recommended: Montreal Steak Seasoning, by McCormick) 3 tablespoons dark brown sugar 4 tablespoons tomato paste 1 large sour deli pickle, chopped 6 to 8 slices sweet bread and butter pickles, chopped 6 soft sammy buns, such as soft burger rolls, split Directions Bring liquids to a simmer in a small to medium skillet and slide in the chicken breast meat. Gently poach the chicken 10 minutes, turning once about after 5 minutes. While chicken poaches, heat a second medium skillet over medium low heat. To hot skillet, add extra-virgin olive oil and garlic and onion and gently saute until chicken is ready to come out of poaching liquids. Combine the next 5 ingredients in a medium bowl and reserve. When the chicken has cooked through, add 2 ladles of the cooking liquid to the bowl, combining with the sauces, spices, brown sugar and tomato paste. Once the liquids and seasonings are combined, remove chicken, slice it, and transfer to the medium bowl. Using 2 forks, shred the chicken and combine with the liquids. Add the shredded chicken to the onions and garlic and combine well. Simmer together 5 to 10 minutes, using extra cooking liquids to make your chicken as saucy as you like. Combine sour and sweet pickles in a small bowl. Split rolls and fill with scoops of shredded chicken. Top with pickle relish and serve. moreResolved Question: i need a show stopping dinner recipe?

Can anyone tell me what the right ingredients are? Thanks for your help xx moreOpen Question: my 15 months old girl won't cut down on milk and hate solid food. What to do?
Hello, it is a fight between her and me all day long. I am trying to give her solids first then the whole organic milk, but she fights and doesn't want to eat any solid food and all day is after me to give her a milk. She drinks over 30oz of milk each day, even sometimes 40oz. I don't know what to do. I am supposed to wean her off? For solids I give her fresh cut fruits, bread, mozarella, organic jarred food, such as chicken and stars, sweet potatoes, pasta dinner, carrot and tomatoes. She has 6oz milk at 5am. If I don't feed that she will wake up at 5:30 and won't sleep till I give her milk. She wakes up at 7:30. I make her an instant applie cinnamon oatmeal round 9:00. I try cooking it it on the stove with milk instead of water to mush it up so she doesn't collect the shewy part in her mouth without swallowing. I have to be a clown to make her eat half a package. Even the taste of milk in it doesn't encourage her. Right after she will almost beg for another 6oz of milk. And I think she didn't want oatmeal but wants the milk. During lunch time, around 12 it is her nap time and she won't sleep unless I give her 7oz of milk. Then she wakes up around 2-:2:30 and want her milk again. I try giving her a jar food, or I even make a soup myself for her. I used a little chicken, carrots, sweet potatoes and buckwheat and then mush it for her. She will eat a little and then wants her milk again another 5oz. THroughout the day I try giving her cheese, bread, fruits which she will only eat a few bites. Then for dinner I cook organic pastina and mix it up with whole milk yogurt. She will eat 0.5 - 1 yogurt. THen she might ask for milk again. Then when she goes to bed at 9:0pm she drinks 9oz of milk. Please help me... What to do? How to wean her off? I mix water with her milk sometimes because she is over 75% for her weight and at 75% for her height. She is about 24lbs and 31 inches. She wn't drink from sippy cup, and may drink water from a glas a few sips. Doesn't like juice. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!! I want to switch to foods that aren't over processed, like white bread and other things. No peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, no fried things, nothing like that. Has anyone gone on a "diet" similar to this? Like eating raw or steamed vegetables, grilled meats, and nothing cooked in an excess of oil? Have you found that you've lost or gained weight from this? Has eating these kinds of things help with building muscle mass? moreResolved Question: Does this sound like a good recipe?
I found this recipe online for Chicken Tetrazzini. I'm no gourmet chef or anything so I just wanted to get opinions on whether this sounds good or not. I will probably add some celery in addition to the mushrooms and I'll probably do bread crumbs on top. I made a Tetrazzini a long time ago and I no longer have the recipe, but when I made that one I'm pretty sure I used cream of mushroom soup and cream of chicken soup. Any suggestions on whether I should substitute the light cream with anything like that? Let me know opinions! Thanks! Ingredients: 3 to 4 cups cooked chicken salt and pepper 8 ounces fine noodles or spaghetti, cooked and drained 6 tablespoons butter 8 ounces sliced mushrooms 1/4 cup all-purpose flour 1 cup light cream or half-and-half 2 cups chicken broth 1/4 cup dry sherry 1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese paprika, optional Preparation: Preheat oven to 425°. Cook spaghetti or noodles according to package directions. Meanwhile, in skillet, melt 2 tablespoons butter over medium-low heat; sauté sliced mushrooms until golden. In a saucepan, melt 1/4 cup butter; stir in flour, and 1/2 teaspoon salt. Stir until smooth; add chicken broth and cream. Cook, stirring, until sauce is thickened. Add chicken, cooked mushrooms, and sherry; heat through. Place noodles or spaghetti in a buttered baking dish; pour on sauce. Top with Parmesan cheese and sprinkle with paprika. If you add seasoning to meat or fish or what ever, or if you marinate the meat or fish (this excludes bread crumbs) does it add more calories than if you just had the meat? I understand that it differs on the type of marination you use, but if it has some oil and sauce ... I'm told that some of the oils "cook out." If they add calories, how much? See, it is hard to count the marination per portion because they have nothing to indicate it on the calorie counting websites. Any advice would be amazing. If you cook eggs in the morning, and leave them out all day long, than eat them, you can suffer food poising cause of the fact that eggs can support large quantities of bacteria, so if you eat them you'll get sick. They have to be kept above or below certain tempatures. But, There are some foods that have eggs, that dont require any kind of refridgeration, like cookies. some kinds of bread and noodles, and other things like that, which you can leave out of the fridge all day long and they are just fine to eat. Why is that, What is it about mixing eggs with other ingreedience that causes them to suddenly be safe. moreVoting Question: In the process of getting a new stove, anyone know good microwaveable meals?

In 2008 November, a female cat came to my home and i started giving her milk. I am single and I live alone in Chennai. she became close to me and started spending most of her time at my home. Whenever I go to Spencer’s, I used to buy the Whiskas packets and feed it one per day. And a lot of milk too (Nestle Milk carton pack). She was basically a street cat so she used to have some other foods from out side too. I had not completely adopted her, just a friendly relation ;) But in early January I noticed that she was carrying and I started caring more of her. 1 Whiskas (Rs.35 I guess) pack in morning and evening and plenty of milk (too much that she always had left over which I used to dispose daily) She gave birth to a tiger and tigress :) on 21st of January 2009 night. She kept them away from me until one month and then she brought them to light and they were like all over the house :) I started feeding them with milk and Whiskas and soon they started vomiting and found it was a bad idea. I found a pet store and there i got Top cat, IAMS , Mee -ow (or something similar) and some other brands of dry foods. Most of them were from Thailand imported to India. I started feeding them dry foods and they seem to be ok with it. Now they are all of the same size (mother, son and daughter). The kids are 4 and a half months old and I am feeding them only the dry food that i buy. Since there are three of them, and since I am at the office from 11am to 9pm, I fill the bowls at 11 and will find it all empty by pm. I also keep enough drinking water aside. Three of them altogether eats around 5 to 6 kgs of dry cat foods every month and costs me around 1500 to 2000 monthly. I buy different flavors such as Tuna, salmon, sea food, chicken, etc. I don’t cook much at home, and they are not interested in what I eat (rice, chapatti, bread) Experienced people here please guide me the best food to give them and any comments... and where is the best place to buy cat food in Chennai. It seems every one is selling dog food alone. :(@Buzzzbe : thanks for the dry fish suggestion ! I am gonna try that right away! I'm 5' 11' male, 24yrs old, and weigh 175 pounds and in relatively bad shape. I don't have that much muscle, but a decent amount of fat. I started doing interval training on the treadmill a week ago and I am slowing increasing my times and speeds. Right now i'm walking for 10 minutes at 3.2 mph and a 2.0 incline. I start jogging at 5.5 mph at no incline for 2 mins, then back to walking at 3.2 mph at a 2.0 incline over and over until i've reached an hour of doing this. I'm also doing pushups and sit ups every other day until i can't do anymore. I'm so sore!! :) I've been eating more often, but taking in less calories. Cereal or eggs in the morning with some fruit, fruit or veggie snack b4 lunch, turkey sandwich on whole wheat bread with a pickle or something for lunch, another fruit or veggie snack b4 dinner, and then some sort of lean meat for dinner with some cooked veggies. I'm drinking nothing but water and green tea. My goal is to lose around 20-30 pounds of fat and gain some muscle at the same time. I'm not too worried about my weight, I just want to lose my gut, love handles, and man boobage. Anyway, I just have so many questions and there doesn't seem to be enough answers :) So i thought i would ask my own question and see what ppl think. Any advice, comments are welcome. moreResolved Question: Who wants a home cooked meal?
