Famous Women In The World Questions asked

Open Question: OMFG!!! This question if for everyone who knows what a real SUPERSTAR is! READ NOW!!! I am so pissed?

So I'm on my Myspace, and my friend is a club promoter in Hollywood. I click on the link he sent me and it has a picture of Ray J and it says this, "WORLD FAMOUS SUPERSTAR R&B SINGER RAY J IS BACK FOR YET ANOTHER SEASON OF FOR THE LOVE OF RAY J" I became so enraged and for the simple fact, hes not a WORLD famous SUPERSTAR! So because Ray J has his own show on VH1, hes a Superstar now? You don't see Madonna doing that, do you? He needs the money, his music sure as hell ain't sellin. You only go on those shows if you need money because it damn sure ain't for love, if it was for love, why does everyone who has a show, always make a 2nd and third? Think about it. BROKE! Allow me to break it down for you all, because some of you would say, "Well Miley Cyrus is world famous, oh the Backstreet Boys are Superstars, Lenny Kravitz is a superstar, and blah blah blah." First of all, a Superstar is someone like Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson, Madonna, The Beatles, Mariah Carey, The Rolling Stones, KISS, RUN DMC, Cher. THOSE are World-Famous-Superstars. I know so many people who don't know Miley, don't know Ray J, Zac, Vanessa Hudgens, or any of these people, I just found out who Zac and Vanessa was and I found out when Ray J had his show who he was. So how is that world wide famous? I asked my friend if she knew Vanessa Hudgens, she said, "Nah, did she go to school with us?" I laughed so hard. Billions of people don't know half the people who are out today. Demi Lovato, Who in the hell is that? There are just a selected few, I want to know who you think is a REAL Superstar. I don't care if you had one or two movies, your own damn show on Disney Channel or if you sold over 1million album. Try 300million. Be like Madonna and Michael. When you walk down the street, the world stops, everyone is screaming and crying because you are a superstar. Not some woman beater like Chris Brown who just gets love from his retarded girl fans because they don't know any better. You may be a millionaire, but are you up there with these people? Put it this way, if Diddy, Miley, Chris Brown, RIhanna or Zac Efron were to walk down the street, I would walk past them, now let it be Janet, Madonna or Michael or someone on that high level, you think I won't piss on myself and lose my damn mind? Who's a Superstar to you? And PLEASE, no bullsh*t answers. I'm talkin the REAl DEAL baby. Musicians ONLY! more

Open Question: Do you feel like smiling?

Hopefully these jokes will bring a smile to your face...enjoy! Little Johnny is always being teased by the other neighborhood boys for being stupid. Their favorite joke is to offer Johnny his choice between a nickel and a dime -- Little Johnny always takes the nickel. One day, after Johnny takes the nickel, a neighbor man takes him aside and says, "Johnny, those boys are making fun of you. Don't you know that a dime is worth more than a nickel, even though the nickel's bigger?" Johnny grins and says, "Well, if I took the dime, they'd stop doing it, and so far I've made $20!" ***************************************************************** A woman's husband had been slipping in and out of a coma for several months, yet she stayed by his bedside every single day. When he came to, he motioned for her to come nearer. As she sat by him, he said, "You know what? You have been with me all through the bad times. When I got fired, you were there to support me. When my business failed, you were there. When I got shot, you were by my side. When we lost the house, you gave me support. When my health started failing, you were still by my side... You know what?" "What dear?" She asked gently. "I think you bring me bad luck." ****************************************************************** "Men are like fine wine. They all start out like grapes, and it's our job to stomp on them and keep them in the dark until they mature into something you'd like to have dinner with." *********************************************************** Santa becomes a very famous English teacher and all his students are so brilliant in English that the entire world notices and some scholars from across the world decide to come and learn his teaching techniques. As they are in his class he tells his class...... "Bolo bachhon gadha" The students say "gadha" "Bolo bachhon gadha gadha" The students say "gadha gadha" "Bolo bachhon gadha gadha gadhe ke peeche main" The students say "gadha gadha gadhe ke peeche main" "Bolo bachhon gadha gadha gadhe ke peeche main mere peeche sara desh" The students chorus "gadha gadha gadhe ke peeche main mere peeche sara desh" Very irritated at all this the scholars complain to the school principal about his ridiculous teaching techniques and Santa Singh is summoned by the principla who demands to know what he is up to. To this Santa says "I was teaching them English" "Is this the way to teach English? What were you trying to gain by this" and he fires Santa left and right. Santa says "but sir,I was only teaching them the spelling of "assassination" -that last joke was dedicated to Lost...hope you liked them ;) more

Open Question: Feminists why do gender gaps persist in fields like hard science?

many cited society and the lack of nurture, however in our society girls have been constantly encouraged to venture into male dominated fields and have been even given coaching men got not, "to close the gender gap". Basically every woman born past around 1980 and later got nothing but encouragement and support in that regard. Therefore we can rule out a lack of nurture as the why of persisting gender gaps in certain areas. So if it is not because of biology, the inequality between men and women, why is 90% of cern male, the average Computer engineering class 80% male with an similar situation in about every area that heavily involves math ? You all have been smart mouths when I cited the biological differences between men and women as the why of the persisting gender gaps in our free society and empirical evidence that reaches thousands of years back and spans the globe, where mostly men have been warriors leaders and thinkers (Famous female mathematicians in ancient greek anyone ?). Now I am curious about your explanations, other than the world has been sexist torwards women all around the world for the past 10 000 years.Tracey, I hardly doubt it and that is not what the article said. I do not know where you get your facts from, but I did not pull "men are more likely to develope large areas of gray matter than women" out of my @ss.Dustin, if that would be true then why are there fields where the ranks got filled by women quite quickly, such as law ?Susie, the complaint is that womens participation in hard science fields is stagnant. Why should these fields be slow to change ? I do not get your reasoning. I never looked at what men 2 classes back or so did. Gender gaps have been closed in other areas, like law, why not science ?Susie, gray matter is in an area of the brain that is important for spacial perception. That is all processing power if you so will. Without education it is just good for spacial perception, but with education that processing power can be put to use in other ways. Math.Susie, its about excellence, not defience. You gotta admit that to be at the top it takes a lot of the grey stuff. Men have more, more men are at the top in that particular field.IT IS ONLY A WAY OF GATHERING AND INTERPRETING INFORMATION REALLY no it is not more

Resolved Question: Is my short story any good?

Her hand shakes as it weakly grasps the tube of lipstick, holding it between her fingers like a precious diamond. Her hand still unsteady, she lifts it up to her lips and smears a thin but even layer over her thin lips. I watch her, mesmerized, at her pale skin and prominent bones. I do not dare cry. Not now. I can't. She studies her face in the mirror. Inspecting the red mess, smiling a little. "Look." She wheezes. "Am I still beautiful?" I open my mouth to say, "Yes," but I find that I can't. All I can do is gape at her, taking her in; as if this is the first time I've ever seen her. Her skin used to be tan. It used to be clear and smooth and blemish-free. She could have been a model. She should've. But three years of hospital visits and chemotherapy have taken their toll on her appearance. Now, her skin is pale, blotchy and bruised and tinted with yellow. That ugly skin stretches over her prominent bones, which now jut out unnaturally. I cringe at the remembrance of her once slender, curvy, figure, now reduced to a pile of skin and bones. Her hair used to be long. It used to be like silk, with the color of dried wheat warmed by the summer sun. Now, it was gone. Her eyes used to be deep indigo. Now, they were a watery mess of pale blue. "Well?" She croaks, impatiently. Men used to swoon over her. Woman envied her. Tears fall down her face, now. She turns away, wiping the lipstick from her lips, meaning to look angry and ferocious, but instead turning out weak and childish. My throat tightens, and I swallow, hard, trying to hold it down. I reach over to my beautiful, talented sister. My hands easy close over hers. I look her in the eyes. I choke, trying not to cry, visioning all the time we spent together. She was supposed to break hearts. She was supposed to be in movies, be famous. We all were sure that one day her name would go down in history. Now, the only place her name would be printed would be the obituary. "Yes." I manage to say, wrapping her frail body in my arms and holding her close to me, trying not to hurt her. Her tears wet my shoulder. The next day, she was gone. She left me, left this hospital, left this world to be somewhere else. I imagined her somewhere bright. I could hear her laugh. I could see her smile. Her funeral was huge. People came, people went. People cried, people smiled, people talked. But I was gone. In my mind, I could see her. That's all that mattered. That was all that was left to hold on to, without that beautiful smiling blonde angel. Her body in the casket was cold. Unfeeling. I felt tears slide down my cheeks, buckets and gallons. I've never cried so hard in my life. Her eyes, blue, stared at me innocently while I continued to cry. Even dead. Even cold. Even without breath. It was still clear. Her question still rang in my mind. I took a deep breath. I wiped the tears. I looked into her face. And I could still see it. "Yes." I know there are some grammatical errors. PLEASE don't yell at me because of them. This is a rough draft. I simply want your imput on the quality of the actual content. Thank you! Also, I'm only 13! :) more

Before you give an opinion just visit these 2 links. http://www.varungandhi.net.in/ http://varungandhi.org/ I came across them & I was really overwhelmed. I was amazed at this guy's depth of thought & ideas. I read excerpts from his book of poems and very very touched. I dont know how such a person who has so strong feelings for the world can be accused of abusing anyone? There is an article written by famous journo, Madhu Kishwar. I read it & had to agree with her. There are 2 muslims in the core team of Varun Gandhi. And imagine he is accused of muslim bashing. When read his views I had to admit that this boy has vision. From environment to women his views are revolutionary. But he is very strict when it comes to the security of the country and its people. In the second link one can ask any question about him and he will be answered. There are 3 videos in the second link that exposes the whole conspiracy behind the cd episode. Resolved Question: Will someone please take a few minutes to read this and tell me if its ok?!?

***SOrry i asked this earlier but i put it in the wrong categorie****** I'm writing a story and its intended for teens. BTW im 13. My summer of finding myself has ended. Alright that sounds stupid because its not like im lost or anything but I feel like im not really here. God! That sounds stupid too. Oh well, I think you get what I mean. Anyway, I promised myself, the last day of 9th grade that this summer would be different. But once again I say something that I never do. I was suppose to become popular, beautiful, find friends, go on exotic vacations and find love on the beach with a tall, dark handsome guy. I ended up getting up at 10 everyday and watching full house reruns until 3 and then making peace while doing yoga at my mothers yoga studio. All my life I have always been quiet, shy and always left out. I have never once had a real friend. Pathetic I know, dont remind me. I'm just awkward around people my age so when I was in 5th grade, after struggling to find a friend and finding no one, I decided who needs friends. So I no longer talked to anyone with choice. But now, being 15 with no friends, no life, absolutly no one besides a crazy yoga obsessed mother, I'm kinda on the verge of lonlyness and may become crazy. Don't get me wrong its not like im major ugly or fat with tons of moutains of acne on my face. I probably look like exactly what 50% of the world looks like. Light brownish blondish hair, green eyes, fair skin, few freckles...blah blah blah. Boring is the word. So yes, this is the story of how I find friends, lose friends, hopefully find love, and maybe even stand up to my mother. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~... "Wes, I mean it I have to leave in 20 minutes and if your not ready I am leaving without you. You will have to walk to school." My mom yelled down the hall to me. Today, is the first day of 10th grade and I, a girl with no friends, am scared. Scared actually isnt the right word, I am terrified, horrified, frightened...you get it. You must be thinking, why is she scared now when she has been going to school for 10 years without any friends? Well I never really cared about what people thought of me, but now I do. All I want is someone to notice me, and not for being weird, or wearing the wrong clothes. So thats why I have been up since 5 o'clock trying to find the perfect outfit. I tryed casual, dressy, pretty much everything in my closet. Which, is hardly anything because I never use to care how I looked. My mom walked down the hall to my room and leaned against the doorway. "Wes, what are you doing?" My mom sighed while buttoning a white blouse. "What does it look like? I'm trying to find something decent to wear." I said gesturing to all the clothes I threw on my bed. "Just put on something fast because we have got to go in-" she looked at her Fossil watch "10 minutes." "Arg! You don't get it. I don't have ANYTHING to wear." I yelled. I haven't told my mom my plan on finding friends. She would'nt care or understand. She doesnt even seem to notice I have none. "Since when do you care what you wear? God damn-it Wes, I don't have time for this. Greg has been up my *** about getting this story in on time and its due in exactly one hour, so If you want me fired then..." My mom is a workaholic, obsessed yoga instructer and a always on a diet woman. Greg is her gay boss who seems nice to me but I guess has a mean side. I can't picture someone gay being rude though....no offence. "WES, are you listeing to me? Put something on now and meet me in the car. I have to drop this off at the mailbox." She snaps, holding up an envelope. Probably a letter to her sister, my aunt. Who we haven't seen for about 2 years. Mom and aunt Jenna got in a huge fight about something that I'm "to young to know about." And now mom is trying to get back in contact with her. "Okay, okay jeez." I yell. Today I am in the yelling mood. My mom is not helping this nervous day by being in a rush like always. I pull on a pair of jean shorts, and run down the hall to my moms room and into her closet. My mom has tons of clothes and fancy stuff because she works for a fashion magazine and knows when anything is in or out. She has a lot of connections with famous people because she sometimes interviews them and I guess they all "LOVE" her. I grap a white baby-doll shirt and some silver, leather flip-flops and brush my hair one last time and run out to the car. "About time." she grunted while pulling out of the garage. My mom has been grunting a lot lately. I think its a mid life crisis. Mom and dad got a divorce about 2 years ago when my mom caught my dad having an affair with her sister. Her own sister! Thats obviously the reason why their fighting, I mean come on how stupid does she think I am? But hello...I would be mad at my sister too if she ever did something like that to me. I wont have to worry about that happening because one, I dont have a sister, and two I probably wont ever more

Resolved Question: AM I alone in thinking Michelle Obama looks like a man?

I wouldn't bring this up, but I am told by the television, paper, and magazine media that she is the most beautiful first lady ever. She is magnificent, she is accomplished, etc, etc. When she clearly isn't as Beautiful as say Jackie Kennedy, and she really is no more accomplished that most other first ladies. I mean she had a job at a hospital(where he pay increased three fold when her husband because a senator) and that job hasn't been replaced since Barack became president. But for the sake of an argument lets say that the job she was working wasn't just a job created by the hospital for her to curry favor with her husband who was a Senator in the State Congress and then later a National Senator, what is so special about her having a job? I think Bush's wife was a teacher and librarian for 30+ years. Aren't we always being told that teachers are the most important people? Wasn't Hillary Clinton a well paid lawyer? Again, i wouldn't even be asking this if I had not reached a saturation point of being told how beautiful and successful she was by every media outlet. The fact that she was in Maxim's top 100 hottest women in the world put me over the top. She's a dude, plain and simple and in no way more sucsessful than any previous first lady. She is famous ONLY because she is married to the President of the United States, no OTHER reason. Thoughts? And please save me the Bush/Barack crap. I don't care who you voted for or how conservatives, neocons, liberals, communists are destroying the world, etc, etc. just answer the issue at hand. more

Resolved Question: Assassins Creed II = Game of the Year 2009?

Ok so Iv not really been paying much attention to the gaming world lately but I just spent the last day watching all the videos and interviews available. I have to say that if they actually follow up on everything theyv said and they do a good job with this game, it will defo have my vote for game of the year. For those who havent been looking at it, Il make a list what Iv seen so far in the way of brand new features and such. 1. It will take place in Italy, in places like Venice and Florence so plenty of room for some more amazing imagery 2. Swimming is now available to use, allowing for a whole new way to take down enemies (especialy in Venice where the canals are so intricate to the infrastructure), including quickly grabbing guards off the side and drowning them, and also it is available to hide in so long as you can hold your breath. 3. Leonardo freaking DaVinci, is the main characters gadget master (some magazines refer to him as what Q is to James Bond). And the character will even be able to use his famous flying machine (basically a big glider) 4. The guards so far as I can make out are split into 3 types. 1 are dagger wielding and fast and can do the same parkour style things as you, but they are weak in a fight. The next are brute force bullies who will dominate in combat but are slow and cant really climb like you. And the third are halberd carriers who are a mix between the 2, but as an added bonus, they occasionaly stick their halberd into haystacks and such to make sure nobody is in them. 5. Often you can get into places by removing your weapons (however you keep your hidden dagger as it is actualy a piece of your body now), and also if you have no weapons you can disarm guards and use theirs which sounds awesome 6. You remember in the first one there was all that rural area between each city that really had nothing to do with anything in terms of missions? Apparently one of their focuses will be to take that area, make it bigger and then create missions which involve going from a city, into the rural area and then back to the city. Making them much more variable 7. Speaking of variable missions. The main problem with the last one was the completely repetitve missions and side missions that involved you saving some woman or interigating someone or evesdropping or whatever. Apparently there will now be over 16 different types. And another thing is that from doing missions in a city, you will begin to stick out like a sore thumb within the city. So new missions on top of that will include, killing witnesses or bribing them and ripping down posters with your face on. 8. You remember just how annoying it was to find somewhere to hide? Well now you can hide just about anywhere. Who the hell needs monks? Now you can fit in with any crowd. You can hide in haystacks, crowds, underwater, bails of cotton and oh yes... Market stalls. 9. Oh yea. Altair is gone, and as far as I can see so is the group of assassins. You are now a freaking nobleman by the name of Ezio Auditore de Firenze (a mouthful I know), and tbh he looks even more baddass then Altair did pic: http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/assassinscreed/images/c/c9/Ezio_full_shot_1.jpg Now when you add all that to what was already in many peoples minds an amazing game. Do you think itl be game of the year? Oh and as an added Q2. If you have any other info, add that in on the side. cheers!I forgot to say, they did mension that the combat system will be taking on a whole new format. Yes reversals will still be there, but it will be much harder to use them. And given that at some points youl be fighting with no weapons whatsoever against multiple armed guards, the idea is that you will be in alot of situations where you will have no other choice but to run. Also I forgot about the health thing. Basically instead of the animus link dictating how much health you have, it dictates how quickly you regenerate minor wounds. And also for large scale injuries like falling off buildings and coming near to death you will have to go and see one of many street side doctors. more

Resolved Question: Is this a good start to a Frnakenstein essay?

Look at the significance of chapter five to the novel as a whole. Focus on the relevance and effect of the writer’s use of language to describe setting, character and what it shows about social and historical influences. The novel ‘Frankenstein’ was written by Mary Shelley in 1818, and has since grown to become one of the worlds most famous and renowned gothic novels, with many adaptations and movies being made of it. Shelley, a prominent author of the 19th century, was the young woman who had devoted her early life to literature and writing, and had created a masterpiece in ‘Frankenstein’, known as one of the first and certainly most enduring novels of the English literary tradition (1); the fascinating combination of classic genres and a compelling style of writing it is constituted of have captured readers and novelists alike all over the world for almost 200 years, and still the novel continues to influence us with the moral ethics and messages it possesses. .this is just the introduction, so anything missing might just be in the proper essay I have done. more

Resolved Question: Why do most Rappers have unattractive wives?

I was watching E! Hip Hop Wives and saw that most world famous rappers have unattractive wives (they are heavier and just not what you thought they would go home to). I don't know I mean I was looking up some of the most famous rapper's women and they are unattractive. Usually you see them surrounded by beautiful women, like in their music videos, so you think their wives would be the same. more

Resolved Question: Let's be feminists! If the great composers were women, what would they be like?

Let's pretend that history was backwards- the world was unfairly matriarchal for centuries, and only women had access to legal power and higher education. What would the great composers have been like? Be sure to include the composer's name and temperament, and principal lovers could be fun too :) For instance: Fryderyka Franciszka Chopin was a Polish composer who lived most of her life in France. Chopin was known for her manly behavior- she was frail, consumptive and highly emotional. She was involved in a torrid ten-year affair with George Sand, a writer and early advocate of men's equality who was famous for donning women's clothing and smoking in public. Not everyone was impressed by Chopin's taste, though; poet Charlotte Baudelaire wrote of him: "He is stupid, heavy and garrulous. His ideas on morals have the same depth of judgment and delicacy of feeling as those of janitors and kept men.... The fact that there are women who could become enamoured of this slut is indeed a proof of the abasement of the women of this generation" OK so it's a little silly but it could be fun :) What would the great composers have been like as women? more

Resolved Question: Kane/Lita/Matt Hard/Edge storyline-the best in WWE(WWF or WCW or other just in WWE)?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker The partnership between Rios and Lita lasted only until May. Upset when Lita found Rios with one of the Godfather's women, Lita cost Rios several matches. Upset at the double-cross, Rios turned on Lita until the Hardy Boys rushed the ring and saved her. Now in the Hardys' corner, Lita would aid them in their feud with Test, Albert and Trish Stratus, even teaming with Matt and Jeff, as well as taking on Trish in singles matches. But Trish wasn't the only woman that Lita faced, as she defeated Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley for the WWE Women's Championship on August 21, 2000. Not willing to simply have the Hardys fight her battles, Lita climbed into the ring to defeat Malenko on Raw in February 2001. It was after that match that Matt kissed Lita, bringing their real-life romance into the storylines. Lita's boyfriend Matt Hardy returned and teamed with her against Bischoff and Holly. However, the match became a nightmare when Hardy dumped her and Bischoff fired her. However, she found an unlikely benefactor as Christian went to Bischoff and got Lita her job back. It was soon learned, though, that Christian was only helping Lita as part of a bet between he and Chris Jericho over who could score with a Diva first. Lita and Trish challenged Jericho and Christian to a "Battle of the Sexes" match (won by Jericho and Christian) at Armageddon. After reuniting with Matt in the ring, the couple found themselves under attack from Kane. As Kane attempted to injure Matt, Lita agreed to sleep with him and later found herself pregnant with his child. Matt vowed revenge but lost a "Til Death Do Us Part" match at SummerSlam, with Kane earning the right to marry Lita, a ceremony that took place on Raw on August 23, 2004. Lita's feelings for Kane changed after she was injured by Gene Snitsky and lost her unborn child. Lita seemed united with Kane in their quest for revenge against Snitsky. Meanwhile Lita's feud with Trish Stratus flared up again, with Lita defeating Trish to win the Women's title on December 6th on Raw. Her relationship with Matt Hardy was over, and she was now seeing Adam "Edge" Copeland. Internet reports on the situation behind the scenes would turn the crowds against Lita. Lita and Kane would continue to team against Trish and her new ally Viscera, but on May 16, 2004, Lita would turn on her "husband" during the finals of the Gold Rush tournament and align herself with his opponent: Edge. For several weeks, it seemed as if the WWE was telling the Edge/Matt/Lita storyline with Kane substituting for Matt. Edge and Lita even went so far as to get married in Las Vegas during a Raw episode. However, the in-ring storylines would become even more realistic when Matt Hardy began making appearances on Raw, jumping Edge from behind and threatening to make Edge and Lita's life "a living hell." The feud between Kane and Edge continued, with Kane seemingly kidnapping an injured Lita after a stretcher match against Edge. However, Lita was well enough to appear in Edge's corner at SummerSlam and the next night on Raw to gloat over Edge's victory over Matt. Lita would be at Edge's side during his battles against her former boyfriend, Hardy. She even got to give Matt the Twist of Fate following one clash. At WWE Homecoming, Lita accompanied Edge during his victory over Hardy in a "Money In the Bank, Loser Leaves Raw Ladder Match", which saw Lita's former beau leave Raw. Lita would also be by Edge's side as he battled Ric Flair" and then John Cena at New Year's Revolution, during which Edge became WWE Champion. Lita got to enjoy the spoils of Edge's victory during his "Live Sex Celebration", the next night on Raw. Unfortunately, the real news came when Lita accidentally showed more than she wanted to. We had interferences from Matt Hardythe most famous is the one when he said "See me in Ring Of Honor",many tag-team matches as Matt & Jeff vs Edge & Lita when Matt did a twist of fate on a chair,We had great matches like the steel cage between matt and edge. Was it the best storyline ever in World Wrestling Entertainment? more

Resolved Question: Edit my essay??? Romeo and Juliet...?

for my l.a. class i was assigned to write on whether romeo and juliet we in love or infatuated (i choose infatuation because it was easier) and its worth a lot of points and i hav ton tons of editing in stuff i just want some final options so n e thing not make sense? what can i change? etc heres the essay: Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, is a world famous play about two young people, Romeo and Juliet, who fell in love even though their families are enemies. In the end they both kill themselves and it fixes the families feud. When reading this play many people wonder, are Romeo and Juliet really in love? Love is a true, deep emotion, that’s is often long lasting of devotion. While infatuation is fake love, that is obsessed over, unreasoned, rushed, and often physical. Because of these definitions you realize Romeo and Juliet were not really in love but infatuated with each other Romeo doesn’t love Juliet because he just wants to be in love with a beautiful woman. Before Romeo met Juliet he claimed he loved Rosaline, but she didn’t like him back, yet he was convinced his love was deep. When talking to Benvolio he said, “A right good mark-man! and she’s fair I love.” (I i 197) He believed he was completely in love with Rosaline, but then thought Juliet was prettier. If he forgot and threw away his love for Rosaline that fast, why wouldn’t he do the same with Juliet? The only difference is Juliet liked him back and that made it so he could have a love, which is really all he wanted. Infatuation is based on beauty and looks, while love is about more, and when Friar Lawrence is shocked Romeo had switched loves he says “… Young men’s love then lies / not truly in their hearts but in their eyes.” (II iii 68-69) Friar Lawrence is saying he thinks Romeo doesn’t really love Juliet, he thinks she is beautiful. Finally, Romeo only likes her because she is prettier than Rosaline. When Romeo sees Juliet for the first time, he says, “Did my heart love till now? forswear it, sight! / For I ne’er saw true beauty till this night.” (I v 51-52) Mercutio took Romeo to the party just so he can find a prettier woman, and Romeo no longer loves Rosaline the second he sees a prettier person, Juliet. Romeo just wanted to love someone, it didn’t matter who, as long as they were pretty. Another reason Romeo and Juliet were infatuated was everything they did because of their love was unreasoned and rushed. They just barely met each other when they decided they were in love and love doesn’t happen like that but infatuation does. Right after Juliet meets Romeo she says “Prodigious birth of love it is to me, / that I must love a loathed enemy.” (I v 139-140) Juliet has just met Romeo and barely talked to him, and she already thinks she is in love with him, but she doesn’t know him at all. Juliet even realizes things might be going too fast but decided to marry the next day anyway. On the balcony when Romeo and Juliet are declaring their love Juliet is nervous and says, “I have no joy in this contract tonight, / It is too rash, too unadvised, too sudden, / Too like lightning, which doth cease to be / Ere one can say ‘It lightens’.” (II ii 118-120) But then just a few lines later she says, “If that thy bent of love be honorable, / Thy purpose marriage, send me word tomorrow…” (II ii 143-144 ) Juliet was saying how everything was too fast, but then says they should get married the next day which is very unreason and fast. Also they were warned to be careful and take their love slowly by Friar Lawrence. When Friar Lawrence is about to marry them he says, “There violent delights have violent ends, / And in their triumph die like fire and powder, / Which as they kiss consume…. / Therefore love moderately, love long doth so; / Too swift still arrives as tardy as too slow.” (II vi 9-15) So they were even told, to have moderation in love, not to hurry and rush, but they still hurried and didn’t think about it or take the advice. Rushing and not thinking often happens with infatuation; people become obsessed think nothing else is important. Romeo and Juliet got carried away in their obsession and it made them go to extreme measures, that they otherwise wouldn’t have. The first thing they did was get married the night after they met. Just after she meets Romeo she says, “…- If he be married, my grave is like to be my wedding day.” (I v 133-134) Juliet decides he is the one she’d marry, just after meeting him. They end up marrying the next day, and even in those times that was fast and they reason they did this so soon was because they were obsessed and getting carried away. Also, they threatened to kill themselves a lot. Just two examples are after Romeo is banished and he tries to stab himself because he can no longer be with Juliet, the nurse stops him and says, “Hold thy desperate hand! / Art thou a man? thy form cries out thou art;…” (III iii 118-119) and when Juliet has to marry Paris and ca more

Resolved Question: What Do You Think Of This As A Persausive Language Speech?

For Year 11; Has To Have Persausive Techniques To Persaude The Reader To Agree With Your Argument My fellow fatties, anorexic, imperfect, flawed, and never ever good enough friends; I’ve come here today to say that enough is enough. We no longer should have to put up with the ever-growing unattainable standard shoved down our throat by the beauty industry today. More specifically that our perception of true beauty is becoming distorted because we now must listen to the like of Paris Hilton to tell us if “that’s hot” or not. Honestly, why do we listen to idiots such as her that are known for owning rat sized dogs, stripped of her inheritance for spoiling the Hilton name and genuinely said when asked about whether she was worried about the growing epidemic of swine flu around the world simply responding by saying “I don’t eat that.” We now look to the catwalks of Milan and New York and see models that fit into a child’s size 7-9 clothing! How is this acceptable? My god, the last time I fitted into that size clothing I was 8 years old and quite happily playing with Barbie dolls. But this really is where the problem starts. Little girls who naively play with and are bought up with a doll who studies found if was a real woman would have: the same size waist as her circumference of her head, only 3 inches of intestine, have double FF cup boobs! Even at the tender age of playing with dolls, enjoying The Saddle Club, and fairy bread there are unreachable standards set upon us. Why is it there has never been a plus size Barbie? With thighs that jiggle and talk to each other when you walk, flabby upper arms, and God forbid a muffin top! But this wasn’t once always the case. Over the last 100 years our perception of beauty hasn’t always been a stick figure. From the early 1900’s all the way up to the 1960’s, our ideal body shape had natural looking curves, hips you could hold onto and thighs that were a reasonable size bigger than ones knees. The body shape of famous celebrities started changing around the 1970’s which went from celebrated curves to ultra thin, un natural bony figures, which mixed the testosterone flued desire of men with waif thin bone structure, big bust and no hips. We now live in an era where it is celebrated to have bones showing, its celebrated to under 50 kilos and 2 meters tall, its celebrated to only eat a cube of cheese every day to loose than extra 5 kilos. But its not just real women that are told by the beauty industry that they are not good enough. Its celebrities too! We see it every single day, and sometimes don’t even realise it. Every woman’s magazines at some point have scrutinized celebrities to find a hint of cellulite, imperfection or heaven forbid body fat! Such as these pictures: Scarlet Johansson, one of the world most beautiful people was 10 times magnified and then posted across the world displaying her “imperfection”. And Kim Catrell- this woman is 50 years old! What I would do to have legs like that at 50! But no, instead of celebrating these women and their flaws, they are plastered across front covers of magazines with words such as shame, shocking and scandalous written next to them, because its simply not acceptable to have flaws when your famous. Their solution? It’s simple. Just get rid of their flaws act as if they never existed, with a lovely little program called Photoshop. They are now separated from us even further, with all of their flaws gone with a simple push of a button. They no longer look normal, people we can relate too! They are now these aliens whose waist is probably as big as the circumference of theirs heads, and enhanced double F boobs! more

Resolved Question: Story. Read and Comment. I wrote it.?

Twelve Black and White Photographs. Chapter I Life is so boring. Sometimes, I just wish I wasn’t alive. I only get this feeling when I really want something, and I’m not getting it. Right now, I feel that way. I know that sounds hopeless, but I never get anything at all. I am Katarina and I am sixteen years old. I’m in grade 11. I have a very far out dream, which is to travel all around the world; over and over again. I love exotic places, but I’ve never been anywhere out of my small (and very boring) hometown, Florida. No, I don’t live in the hot, sunny Florida. I live in Florida, Missouri. What’s odd about this place that you’ve probably never heard about in your entire life? Only ten people live here. Yeah, I know. Now you get it. I get very bored in this little town, because there is no school and no jobs, because there isn’t enough money. We somehow, though earn just enough money to stay alive. It’s a pretty cheap town, although Mark Twain (the author) was born here. At least one small town person became famous. I live with my mother- my dad died when I was six from a fire in our house. My mother and I escaped. I don’t remember him, although I wish I did. We don’t even have photographs of him. My mom doesn’t have a job, and no money, either. She can’t save any money, although whenever she saves any, it’s usually spent within twenty four hours flat. I don’t think she really cares about me. My dad was usually the one who cared before he died, but now he’s gone, and I can’t do anything about it. You would think she would forget this usually boring day, like every other plain year, but this year, I wake up to the familiar tiny stone hut, lying on my pile of hay on top of the concrete floor, and my mother is standing over me with a small engraved wooden box in her hands. She greets me happy birthday, and hands me the box. I hold it in my hands. I never get any presents. Never. “It was your grandmother’s,” she whispered, “She would have wanted you to have it,” “Thanks,” I muttered, wondering what was in this box. My hands found the lid, and pried it open. What was inside was beautiful. A necklace with a carved bamboo cross lay there, just waiting for me to put it on. My fingers had the urge to pick it up, and they slowly moved towards the open lid. I carefully picked it up, and slowly slid it around my neck. As it was on my neck, I felt beautiful. That was a feeling I’d never had before. I saw my mother had a small smile on her face. Maybe she did care about me. I graciously thanked my mother, and bounded towards the door. As I opened it, it creaked like there was no tomorrow, slammed shut. I walked and walked for forty five minutes, and ended up at my favourite tree- a giant apple tree with tons of draping branches. It was so beautiful. You could climb under the branches, and sit against the stump, and you would be in a little exotic looking room made up of branch walls. I did exactly that, and lay down on the grass. I took off the necklace, and took a good look at it, smiling. It seemed to be hollow. But, it was made of bamboo, so that made sense. But, what didn’t make sense was that there was a little crack upon the middle of the cross, going around. I pried at it, and the two halves pulled apart. A tiny slip of yellowed paper slipped out. I read it over and over again, but the words stayed the same. In a scrawl, they read: ‘You have found the treasure of me, my story, and my life lies in this cross. Just wait and see. As you read, this necklace is thinking. If it shall give you a tour while you’re blinking. Throw away this note, and then you’ll see that not everything is just what it seems.’ So, I threw away the note, and the wind blew it far. What next? I couldn’t remember. Maybe this was a joke from my mother. Suddenly, a large gust of wind sent dust flying everywhere, and a blinked the dirt out of my eyes. While I was blinking, I saw black and white pictures. The first was of a beautiful girl, about fifteen years old dressed in rags. She was living in a small hut, and washing the floors with a brush and a big bucket of soapy water. She was dirty, and she didn’t look like she had much hope. The next was of the girl again; in the hut, where she was before, but the bucket of water she was using to wash the floor was on its side, and water was everywhere. She looked exasperated, and her hands were on her head. The next showed a strict looking woman (possibly her mother?) belting her as hard as she could on both palms with an angry look on her face. The girl’s face held a grimace, but she did not cry. The fourth picture showed the girl, sitting under an apple tree that looked very similar (no, identical, just smaller) to mine, and looking at a picture of a middle aged man with laugh lines. It was labelled ‘Father. 1784-1819.’ it was very sad to see. This girl’s father had only lived until thirty four. But, as I realgot cut off. just a main idea. more

Resolved Question: Can someone please proofread this?

As part of my summer reading work for my AP English 11 class, I have to read 3 books. On each book I have to write a 'well-developed' paragraph about the author. But here I wrote 2 paragraphs. Can someone please proofread my first paragraph, and give other suggestions to make it better? The book was Their Eyes were Watching God by Zora Neale Hurston. 10 points to best answer! Zora Neale Hurston had a commanding presence and a, “rambunctious spirit” (Hurston). However, before her fame, she came from humble beginnings. She grew up poor in a small town. Then at the age of 13, tragedy struck her world when her mother died. Despite her rough childhood, she grew up into a very kind, social women who was unforgettable. She was one of the most famous, and talented African-American writers during the twentieth century. She wrote and published many writings that are still loved and cherished today. Those writings include: Their Eyes Were Watching God, Tell My Horse, Dust Tracks on a Road, and several more. In a career that last over 30 years, she earned many well-deserved awards for her writings. However, they did not earn her a lot of money. She was a poor woman for most of her life. Sadly, when she died in 1960, there was not even enough money for a marker on her grave. Later, in 1973, a fan put a head stone on her grave that read: “Zora Neale Hurston: A Genius of the South.” more

Resolved Question: The New World of "Women"?

I am sure this has probably been posted before but I just want to ask. What are your opinions about Photoshop and other photo editing programs that create a false beautiful image and about all of these photos of these woman being shown on the cover of magazines and diet programs, television, etc.? Also what do you think of the magazine articules that redicule a famous celeb simply because she has half a centimeter of "pudge" hanging out of her bikini? Resolved Question: DO YOU THINK THIS IS GOOD?

here is my bio due tomorrow, its on venus williams...is it good? if not, why? what am i missing? On June 17th, 1980, a new tennis champion was born; Venus Ebony Starr Williams. She is currently 27 years old, 160 pounds, and a height of six feet and one inch. Venus was born in Lynwood, California, which wasn’t a very good neighbor hood at the time, so her father (Richard Williams) wanted a better life for his five daughters, Lyndrea, Isha, Yetunde, Serena, and of course Venus. And in order to get that better life for his girls, he decided that he would teach them to play tennis. But Lyndrea, Isha, and Yetunde absolutely HATED it, so they just quit. On the other hand, Venus and Serena certainly LOVED it. In fact, they loved it so much that they played every single day after school. But of course after homework. Again, in order to become a pro tennis player you must practice every day. Soon Venus’s dad became her coach. As she got older, she started competing in tournaments against other players. Even though some white players didn’t like her at all and kept insulting her, she believed that she shouldn’t change and just act like it never happened. As she got better, she started to win more often. Very soon after she won first place in most matches, her family finally had enough money to move to Florida. They had so much that they moved into a mansion! But of course they had to move to Florida for a reason, famous tennis coach Rick Macci began to teach Venus how to play. He was her coach for a good three years. Ever since tennis has been a big part of her life, she started to go to school for half a day, and then the other half practicing to become a better player. Venus was obviously very good at this, because by the time she turned fourteen, she was already pro. Although some people said this was too young to become pro, and that her father was pushing her too hard, she just ignored those comments and kept playing her best. Now that she is pro, she could start competing in pro matches. In 1994, she played her first match. Even though she didn’t win the first couple of years, she still kept on going. Then, in 1997, Venus won match after match against Martina Hingis – the which was to top player in the world. She was the second black woman to ever reach the finals in the U.S Open! She made history on that day. In 2003, Venus was ranked number two in the Grand Slam titles; she was ranked right after her sister Serena. As of today, Venus Williams has won 394 single matches, and many more to come. Although she is an amazing tennis player, Williams received her associate degree in Fashion Design from the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale with Cum Laude honors and a 3.5 GPA. more

Voting Question: so im supposed to write a paper answering this question : "how do writers and their works impact the world?"?

apparently it needs to be around 5 pages and mine is just about 3. please read my paper and give me some feedback. thanks :) well, here you go.... Throughout time, many authors have put out unique stories, plays, poems and much more. Many of these works have unique aspects to them that have had many different impacts on the world. These impacts are not only from the work the authors produce, but also from the authors themselves. In A Thousand Splendid Suns, Khaled Hosseini has a unique writing style that has impacted the world. He has a different point of view than most authors in America. His book takes place in Afghanistan, giving the reader the point of view of people in another country. After 9-11 many people had just one view of Afghani people, savage and vile. However, Hosseini’s choice of using factual events and how they affected the people in Afghanistan connected the reader to the Afghani people. He showed the reader that however far away they are, that they are just like us. They fall in love, want to learn and have friends. Hosseini impacted the world with his book. It showed people that not all people in Afghanistan are bad. He showed people that they just want to live their lives just like any other person wants. His choice to use factual events has impacted the world and will be remembered for a very long time. Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen has impacted the world in so many ways it’s almost impossible to count. However, the most important way Prided and Prejudice impacted the world is by Austen’s choice of characterization. The characters in this novel are just like ordinary people. The reader can connect to them. Austen impacted the world the most with the characterization of Mr. Darcy. He is the perfect man that almost every woman wants to fall in love with. He’s wealthy, good looking, respectable and of course a gentleman. Women find this to be an ideal man and the idea of love that Austen portrays in this novel allows the women to connect to the characters in the book. Ultimately, this connection with the reader is what impacted the world the most. “Four Short Crushes” by Paul Simms has a very unique choice of humor in it, which has had an impact on the world. Simms unique writing style entertains the reader while conveying the meaning of the poem. His ending to each of his short stories is the key to his writing style that has impacted the world. When the reader reads “Four Short Crushes” they realize that being a hopeless romantic isn’t that good of an idea. Instead, just to be yourself and to not try real hard. This humorous approach to rejection is ultimately what has had an impact on the world. Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close by Jonathan Safran Foer has had a huge impact on the world. Foer’s unique writing style and structure is the cause of this major impact. He sets up his book in many different ways. This includes his narration choices, layout of the book, and word choice. Foer has different narration styles that make the reader think and pay attention. It stays as a first person narration but the narrator changes. He also has unique ways to set up the pages of the book. Not only are they appealing to reader’s eyes but it creates a deeper meaning to the words he writes. The words are spread in patterns, written over, in color, and different fonts creating hidden meanings for the reader to discover. Foer’s word choice is also appealing to many young people thus making the impact this book has even greater. He uses modern-day “slang” and goes through the thoughts of a kid. Oskar’s thoughts are more erratic than most kids, due to the fact that he lost his father in 9-11, however this is a connection that some readers can make. These connections, writing styles, and artistic layouts ultimately had an impact on the world that will affect readers for many years to come. Authors have many special and unique qualities to them that make them the great authors they are today. Even authors who aren’t as famous as others have qualities that others don’t. These talents of writing, weather it’s artistic layouts of pages, humorous writing styles, the unique use of characterization, or the use of factual events, all impact the world in one way or another creating an everlasting effect on the reader. more

Voting Question: can anyone edit my essay?

“From every mountainside, let freedom ring” is a quote from a famous speech made by Martin Luther King Jr. His ultimate goal was to obtain freedom for African Americans all over the world including him. The personality of this remarkable historical figure is similar to a character named Cotton in the fiction novel Bless the Bests and Children by Glendon Swarthout. Cotton is the leader of a group in summer camp called the ‘Bedwetters’ who were tremendous outcasts. The ‘Bedwetters’ lead a rebellion that results in releasing buffalo from their death sentence when they run away from camp. As they release the buffaloes into freedom, they simultaneously free themselves from their own insecurities. Several children attending the Box Canyon Boys Camp have been sent by their fussy parents. There are many different competitions at the camp that determine the group’s Indian name and rank. Sine the group that is led by Cotton is full of untalented kids, they lose pretty much every activity. Stuck being the underdogs at camp, “The Director announced, the team in last place on points was not honored with an Indian name. Instead, to activate its progress up the ladder of achievement, it was traditionally called the Bedwetters.” (Swarthout 33). Frustrated at the title, the ‘Bedwetters’ make a bold move and run away from camp. The ‘Bedwetters’ get themselves into trouble during the time that they run away many times. One of those times happens towards the end of the book, which is when they arrive at a buffalo preserve. When they see that the buffaloes are being killed, they decide to free them from their devastating future. “The Bedwetters had never had a real plan, only a simple objective: no matter who, no matter what, to free from the pens the thirty animals doomed to die in the morning.” (Swarthout 120). The ‘Bedwetters’ are determined. After seeing the buffaloes trapped and waiting to be murdered, the ‘Bedwetters’ recognized themselves as if they were the buffalo. Realizing this, they made up their minds that they had to do something to save them from their imminent deaths. When Cotton slept he would dream about some of the ‘Bedwetters’ and him. In his dream, they were trapped in a coral and were all buffalo. They would obtain freedom and then be promptly cornered and killed by his mother. “Omnipotent, glaring at the line of humans, he centered on the muzzle of a rifle and down the barrel and into the half-faced woman seated on a tarpaulin sighting him. She fired. He recognized her. The microsecond’s recognition shattered his heart even as her bullet broke his brain. It was the face of his mother.” (Swarthout 12). There was an immediate connection since the beginning between the buffalo and the ‘Bedwetters’ and their freedom. One of the members of the ‘Bedwetters’, Lally 2 courageously goes across the catwalk to open the pens without any indecision. The whole squad goes with Lally 2 and helps him perform the task. Their plan doesn’t go as intended, as Cotton describes: “Three of them did go through—but they’re as shook up as we are and they came right back. So what we’ve gotta do is, without making noise, some way stampede ‘em…” (Swarthout 132). They throw their flashlights, radios, and hats to get the buffalo to move in the correct direction so they can run free when they open the gate again. Soon after the second attempt, the buffaloes are as free as birds and are able to go wherever they wish. Freeing the buffalo and the escape from camp changed the ‘Bedwetters’. The government had taken the life of the buffaloes. They have never felt any freedom and stay on the preserve, until they are killed in the annual buffalo shooting. The boys have never felt any freedom and suffer from emotional needs. They are forced to be at the camp so they will gradually become tougher. The boys feel a sense of accomplishment after they free the buffalo. They prove that they can continue on even when things get tough and that they could count on one another. “It was the finest moments of their lives. They awed themselves.” (Swarthout 141). The ‘Bedwetters’ had never felt more proud. The ‘Bedwetters’ finally had the chance to believe that they accomplished something worthwhile in their lives. Throughout the lives of the ‘Bedwetters’, their parents and society as a whole felt as if they were kids that just used up space and got in the way of hard working people, also know as a “ding”. “Finally the Director lost his temper and told them they were sick. They belonged in some sort of institution, he wasn’t sure which sort, but it wasn’t a camp for normal boys, healthy in body and mind.” (Swarthout 135). Constantly being barged with these humiliating insults, a victory over something they set their mind to and cared about brought about a feeling they seldom get. They finally felt as if they fit somewhere in life. Even though it was illegal and society didn’t approve of it, they felt that they had to save the buffaloes in order to sa more

Resolved Question: Need some advice on my story please? thanks!?

Hey, I've been working on a novel about a young woman who's a surrogate mother for famous celebrities. So far, she's agreed to become one for the most famous couple in the world. Please read and tell me what you really think! thanks. ‘lulu’s got held up at the shoot’ Mark said casually, squinting down at his neon red mobile. I looked down trying to fathom out what brand of mobile produces ones like his, so bright, so shiny, so…. technology advanced. Probably a parting gift from when he played in Japan last season, which Lucy wouldn’t shut up about. I’d been so preoccupied with thoughts concerning where he got this masterpiece of a mobile, wandering if they made it in shades of purple, that I found his calla blue eyes resting on my stomach, which considering haveing gave birth to twins four months ago, had regained its natural concave look of a fifteen year old athlete. I guess I was lucky, even though I ate like a horse in my third trimester. I often longed to have a small, round tummy, but the little fat I had, seemed permanently glued to my thighs and bottom. Then I thought wickedly, of all the exercise Lucy had to endure to regain her ‘toned tum’ after giving birth to her bratty Mark-clone boys. Life was good… ‘She’s stranded in New York still with Vogue. Doing an awesome cover shoot with Vivienne Westwood. She’s sampling most of her Summer range, dresses, bikini’s, kaftan’s…you name it.’ Since when did Vivienne Westwood design kaftan’s? I thought sarcastically, but the thought seemed to come out very loud, bounced off the stone centaur statues by the pool, I’d actually said that remark out loud., to one of the richest and possibly best looking premier league footballer’s in the world. Shit. ‘I don’t know what the hell she does as long as my Lulu gets to sample them. She loves her clothes…’ he tailed off, gazing dreamily towards the pool. He didn’t seem taken back at all by my outburst, then I realised he’s used to being dominated by Lucy all the time, so I breathed a sigh of relief and let myself relax a little. ‘Well, we could always arrange it for another time?’ I suggested. Part of me was so boiling I just wanted to throw off my polo neck and jump into that crisp, clear water. Then the realistic side of me won the bargain and wanted to head back to the petrol station for a gallon of water and a big slice of their decadent Mississippi mud cake. ‘She says for me to just go ahead. She’s loaded with work, and she still has to promote her perfume in Britain next week. I was going to come with her now that I’m off, but the boy’s need their Dad.’ And with that he looked right up at me and grinned. He looked much younger than thirty four. His clean shaven face seemed to radiate from the sun, and his teeth were that perfect Hollywood white. Maybe once I get paid, I should get that done to my teeth, although they were already bleached, I could do with getting a few of them filed down. Lucy has perfect teeth. Sometimes in the mornings when I looked in the mirror, my canines resembled a vampire’s, which won’t do if I’m to be the surrogate of the most famous couple in the world. I smiled broadly back at him, panicking that he would notice it, but all I saw were these magnificent royal blue eyes of his tugging along on my beckoning heartstrings.. more

Voting Question: What do you think about my report due tomorrow?

All over the world people love the Japanese art work. The suitable type of wood for woodblock was easily available in in Japanese forests. One color for each carved block. For an example the Japanese artist Nariwaya Okita. He made prints that had carving of famous women . The wood blocking evolved from black-and-white prints made by the Buddhist in 700’s . By the time of 1700 they had learned how to make multicolor pints. One of the reasons why the wood blocking was so cool was because it could be processed and make very fast it was also cheaper then paints and having the artist paint it. In the 1800’s the Japanese artiest sold the wood blocks for about only the price of a bowl of noodles. Japan has lots of other art but just about none tops this. There are other Japanese art work style there is calligraphy art called "Ei Kanji/Ee Kanji" which is invented by a Japanese female calligrapher, Tomomi Kunishige . Calligraphy art is done with a brush and black ink. Their was earlier forms of pottery seen in Japan were coil made and decorated with rope patterns which was all done by hand. Many styles of the Japanese pottery evolved which were created by Korean potters Their was Bansai which was the art of growing miniature plants. The Japanese would Ikebena was Japanese flower arrangement origami which was the art folding paper. You can differentiate ikebana from normal flower arrangement though its design. it has defined shape, they are usually very strict in terms of their lines & forms. Ikebena was also make with all organic items such as . . . . ( I am not completely done with it I have to write a page what should I add in more about? Any other things to make it big and fluffed up?) more

Resolved Question: Can someone edit my English essay?

It is an interview between Abraham (from the Bible) and me. Me: Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen, and welcome to “The Inside Scoop on Everyone and Everything That is of Most Utter Importance!” Today, we have the pleasure of meeting someone who has been written about all over the world! No, it is not Brad Pitt or Angelina Jolie. It is not Abraham Lincoln, but the he is close! Abraham, who is best known in the book of Genesis, is here to be interviewed! (Core 20) Before I welcome him to the stage, I implore you to submit your questions by texting them to 227-2426. Your questions, although it is highly improbable, may be answered by Abraham himself! (Core 17) Once again, the number is 227-2426. Are you ready to meet Abraham? [cheers from crowd] Come on out, Abraham! [Abraham enters from stage right, staggers, and sits on the couch.] Welcome! How are you today? Abraham: I am very well, thank you. How about you? Me: I am well. Are you ready for my first question? Abraham: As ready as I shall ever be. Me: From what I have heard, you have been to many places. What are a few of these locations? Abraham: I have been fortunate to travel to many great areas. Before I began my journey, I lived in the land of Ur (Smith-Christopher 75). While I was living there, God called to me and He told me to depart from my homeland and go to a land which He would show me. I went by the way which God directed me with my nephew, Lot, and my wife, Sarah. We ventured to the land of Canaan, and we passed through the sacred place at Shechem. Then God told me that my descendants would live and own this land. A little time after our stay in one place, we moved to the hill country east of Bethel. (Core 6) We lived between Bethel and Ai, Bethel being to the west and Ai to the east. I built an altar to God and continued to Negeb. After living there for awhile, a famine struck the land. To escape the food shortage, we went to Egypt. After Pharaoh sent us away from Egypt, we returned to Negeb, then back to the area between Bethel and Ai where we had formerly stayed. These are just a few of the many places which I have visited (Gen. 12-13.1-4). Me: Wow! You have been to many places, many more than even I have visited! It has also been rumored that you possess a large fortune. Is this true? Abraham: Yes, I suppose you can say that I am rich. Me: How did you come upon this? I would really like to know because I am stuck in a tough financial situation because of the hard economy these days. Abraham: Actually, I got quite lucky. Before I reached Egypt, I told my wife, Sarah, to tell people that she was my sister, not my wife. Her beauty was great and I could be killed for it. I, of course, was right by saying this because many of the Egyptians saw her beauty, including Pharaoh. Pharaoh took her into his palace and I was greatly rewarded with flocks, herds, slaves, donkeys, and camels. God was not pleased with Sarah and me for Sarah posing as my sister instead of my wife, so He struck plagues upon Pharaoh’s household. Pharaoh was infuriated with me and he told Sarah and me to leave with all of my possessions. I had accumulated a lot while I was in Egypt, so when I left with everything, I was rich (Gen. 12.10-20). Me: That is very interesting. Unfortunately, I do not believe that I can do that. It is now time for a commercial break. So sit tight, and we will be back with Abraham after a few short messages! Do you have nothing to do in your spare time? Go to a Scranton Prep Junior Varsity softball game and support your team! And we are back! For those who are just joining us, I am interviewing Abraham, one of the most famous patriarchs from the book of Genesis (Intro. Gen. 12). Right now, I am going to ask my last question for the show, and then I am going to accept questions from the studio audience and those watching at home! Just out of common interest, did Sarah and Hagar get along with each other? Abraham: Actually, it was initially Sarah’s idea that I have children with another woman because she was barren. She gave me her maid Hagar and she became pregnant. Hagar was not too happy about the pregnancy and she looked upon Sarah with disrespect. Sarah abused her so much that Hagar ran away. Eventually, she returned and gave birth to my first son, Ishmael (Gen. 16.1-6). Me: That is very interesting. I am surprised that Sarah actually would abuse her maid. This reminds me of how the United States was before African Americans were granted freedom. Anyway, we are now going to take questions from those who texted to 227-2426! The first randomly chosen question is submitted by Nathan Smith from Forks, Washington. His question is: Why did your name change from Abram to Abraham? Abraham: God promised me that I would become the father of a host of nations. He told me that I would have many children. I would have a son, and he would be named Isaac because Sarah would laugh thatbearing a child at her age was possible. However, she did conceive and she gave birth to Isaac (Howlett 2; Gen. 21.1-8). Justine .: Thank you so much for answering my question! May I shake your hand? May I give you a hug? Can we meet later after your interview at the café? Me: No bugging the special guests! Justine, will you please return to your seat or shall I call security? [Justine returns to her seat while telling Abraham to call her.] The next question comes from an anonymous person in Berlin, Germany. It translates as: Were Isaac and Ishmael friends while they were growing up? Abraham: Isaac and Ishmael got along very well. When they were younger, they used to play together until Sarah saw them. Sarah feared that Ishmael would receive inheritance from me so she demanded that I wend both Ishmael and Hagar away. I was greatly distressed by this. God helped me reach the conclusion that I should succumb to the demands of Sarah because she is my wife. all i can fit....unfortunately, this is what i assigned and i go to catholic school more

Resolved Question: The four funniest jokes in the world, star if you like.?

An old man was dying. He was terribly sick. As he lay on his death bed alone, he was so confused he didn't even know if he was alive or dead. Suddenly, he smelled something sweet and delicious coming from the kitchen. He was very weak, but it smelled so wonderfull that he slowly made his way down the stairs to the kitchen. He opened the doors, and he still wasn't sure if he was dead or alive, but whatever he was, it was as if he was in heaven! The room was filled with his wife's famous chocolate chip cookies, and there she was, baking in her apron, humming. The man was filled with joy! Slowly he reached out his hand to take one. As soon as he did his wife slapped him on the hand and snapped, "Don't touch those! They're for the funeral." A preschooler returned from his first school day. As he walked in his mom recieved a call from the principal. "Your son is having some problems understanding the different sexes, you should talk to him." The woman said "Okay, I'll speak with him" and hung up. She then said "Timmy! Would you come here?" He obeyed and sat next to her on the living room couch. "Now, I want you to take off mommy's shirt" She said and he did. "Now take off mommy's pants" and he did "Now take off mommy's panties" and he did "Now take off mommy's bra" and he did "Now, I don't ever want you to wear my clothes to school again!" A man was driving home one evening and realized that it was his daughter's birthday and he hadn't bought her a present. He drove to the mall and ran to the toy store and he asked the store manager, "How much is that new Barbie in the window?" The Manager replied, "Which one? We have 'Barbie goes to the gym' for $19.95, 'Barbie goes to the Ball' for $19.95, 'Barbie goes shopping' for $19.95, 'Barbie goes to the beach' for $19.95, 'Barbie goes to the Nightclub' for $19.95 and 'Divorced Barbie' for $375.00" "Why is the Divorced Barbie $375.00 when all the others are $19.95?, the father asked. The store manager replied: "Divorced Barbie comes with Ken's car, Ken's house, Ken's boat, Ken's dog, Ken's cat, Ken's furniture and all of Ken's savings." A Chinese man walked into a bar and saw Stephen Spielberg sitting in there. He walked up to him and said "Wow! I love your films, can I have your autograph??" Stephen Spielberg slaps him on the face and says "How dare you people blow up pearl harbor!" The man stared at him, puzzled and said "It was not the chinese but the Japanese who did that." Stephen says "Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese you're all the same!!" The Chinese man in turn slaps him back and says "How dare you sink the Titanic, my ancestors were on that ship!!" He responds "It wasn't me, it was an iceberg that sank the titanic." "Iceberg, Spielberg, Carlsberg you're all the same!" more

When you walk down the aisle in many stores such as Wal Mart, Target, or maybe even Super 1 we notice many magazines. These magazine have many celebrities putting thier news out. "Britney Goes Crazy and Shaves Her Head" or "Brangelina battles it out with Jennifer Aniston" these are some of the things that appear on these magazine. These people appear on many magazines, because they are celebrities. Celebrties have been around, even around the 1920s. I am going to tell you about scandals, and famouse celebrities that lived in the 1920's. One of the most famouse celebrities that lived in the 1920's would be Babe Ruth. Babe Ruth will always be remembered even to this day. He has broken many records in pro baseball. He was the first pro baseball player to hit 60 homeruns in one season. This record was broken after 34 years by Roger Maris. His lifetime total was 714 homeruns. Babe Ruth also has a choclate candy bar out entiled after his name. Babe Ruth. Someone that was also famous was novelist Sinclaire Lewis. Today most authors and novelist dont get much attention, but back in the day they were popular. Resolved Question: The Susan Boyle phenomenon: no offense, but what’s so special about her singing?

Okay I know this is not a classical music question. But if you’ve ever been to other sections in Entertainment and Music, the Twilight and Disney fans *unfortunately* have taken over. The Celebrities section, for example, is filled with tweens asking about “OMG Edward Cullen is so HOT! How can I get his number?” (thus why I've been abandoning the section lately). The Singing section is no better either: “I wanna be famous. Tell me how!”, “Isn’t The Jonas Brothers the most talented singer in the world?”, “How can I become a Disney star?”, “Any tips for the upcoming American Idol audition?” etc etc etc (well, you get the picture). So, bravely enough, I decided to ask here. Hope you don’t mind! =) Well anyway, I’m sure that most, if not all, of you have heard about the Susan Boyle phenomenon. She’s a 47-year-old Scottish woman who joined Britain’s Got Talent singing “I Dreamed a Dream” (from Les Miserables). Before she sang, both the audience and the judges appeared to express scepticism based on her unpolished appearance and awkwardness. She also said that she lives with her cat and she’s never been kissed. But when she sang, she pretty much shocked the people in the room because no one expected that voice to come out of her. Now, not that I have anything against her. I feel sorry & sympathy for her personal life and I applaud her for her courage to make the audition. She opens many people’s eyes to realizing that you don’t have to be beautiful to sing. But aside from that, I don’t necessarily think that her voice or her singing is that spectacular. There are many other singers who can sing better than her and with more polished/refined technique. The reason why she became so popular was more because of the “surprise” factor; no one expected her to sing like that. Not to mention her sob story which made people fall for her and hailing her as the newest underdog hero. Her story kinda reminds me of the Paul Potts phenomenon back then. Remember him, the tenor-wannabe who sang “Nessun Dorma”? After the show, many people hail him as one of the greatest tenors of our time. *chuckle* Tell me, what’s so special about her singing? For any of you who have watched/listened to her, what do you think of her singing? Do you HONESTLY believe that she’s THAT good? Again, I don’t mean to bring her down. I just don’t understand what the fuss is all about. It has nothing to do with her or her look. I’m just simply baffled about her singing.p.s: You know, this is one of the reasons why I really HATE reality shows, such as American Idol, America’s/Britain’s Got Talent etc. Eventhough they claim to be "talent" competitions but most *smart* people know it takes more than just talent to run those shows. They do not represent the real music industry. So many times, the people who passed the auditions have a story/look/gimmick behind them to keep the ratings high. Singers with amazing gifts are frequently overlooked and/or rejected from those shows because regardless of how well they sing, they aren't what the show is looking for. It’s a playing field. As much as we want to believe those shows as “talent” competitions, but it is a TV business more than anything else. If they don't get ratings, they don't stay on air. And if Simon Cowell ever creates an “opera” or “classical music” reality show, God knows what I will do to my TV…Yes I know this isn't the appropriate section, Doctor John, which is why I have already explained myself and apologized earlier. The reason why I didn't post this somewhere else is because most other sections have been plagued with tween fans who aren't mature yet. I asked here in hopes of getting smart/mature answers from the classical music regulars here. Since the Susan Boyle phenomenon is so massive, I assume that most people would've heard of her. But if you haven't, then I sincerely apologize. And I'm terribly sorry if many find this question to be inappropriately asked here. Again sorry, and thanks for the answers so far...LOL Thanks, del_icio...! =) Yeah, I don't like Paul Potts either."...I think this shows how little Oprah knows about music..." --- LOL I laugh at this statement. =DBtw yeah I do think she's good. I mean, I never said that she's bad or awful. Just like most people here, I do think she has TALENTS. But I honestly don't think she's THAT good.... yet. Yes, she has the potential, but as of NOW, just like del_ said, she's not exactly a Brodway material (yet). That's just my opinion. more
